SEPTEMBERFEST – 5P.M. – MIDIGHT – MASS AT 4P.M. – A great big thanks to all who have helped with this huge fundraiser, from donating the basket items, soda, selling raffle tickets, prework, setting up, working a shift, tearing down etc. Pray for NO RAIN!!  Please make sure you are there for your shift that you signed up for, this will help things run smoothly.

 

CANDY BAR SALE – SALE ENDS SEPT. 17TH - Keep selling those bars!!!  They are going great.  If you need more please contact the school office.  If you are having trouble selling yours or choose not to sell them, please return them as soon as possible.

 

MARKET DAY - Please make sure you take a look at the new Market Day order form enclosed.  FREE Mandarin Citrus Blend veggies and FREE Ground Beef options available!!  Also, three NEW sandwich possibilities….cheeseburgers, chicken and BBQ Pork!!  Get your Halloween Pumpkin shape cookies too!  Remember, and this is NEW this year with our Market Day…..the more we buy, the higher our percentage of profit back to the school.  It is an easy way to raise money for our Technology Lab.  We thank you in advance for your support of Market Day….a delicious way to support TECHNOLOGY!  Last month $275 was raised for our technology lab.  This is with just a small amount of orders and we still made $275 in one month.  This is a minimum of $3,000 a year.  Think what we can do if we bring the numbers up each month! 

The winner of the drawing was LORI HOLTSCHLAG.  She will receive $15 off her next month’s order.

 

FREE/REDUCED MEALS – DEADLINE IS OCT 1STIf you were in the program last year, you MUST reapply for this school year before the deadline.  If you don’t reapply your children will begin getting charged for full price meals.

 

PHYSICALS/EYE EXAMS – DEADLINE OCT. 15TH. – Students in grades K and 6th are required to get an updated physical and shots (if needed).  Students entering Kindergarten and any new students are required to get an eye exam.  Please get your appointments made and take care of this before the deadline.  Any student not in compliance by the deadline will not be allowed in school until it is taken care of.

 

GAME COLLECTION – SPELLING L E A D E R S – Were off to a great start!  Several classes have already met their quota for getting the first letter (L) and have started on the next letter.  We need EVERYONE in the whole school to bring in those Box Tops, Hyvee UPC’s, Campbells Soup Labels, Drink Pouches, etc.  A sheet was sent home last week with everything on it that we are saving.

 

TERRA NOVA TESTING – Grades 2nd – 8th will begin the standardized testing Sept. 13th through Sept. 24th.  Please make sure your child has a healthy breakfast to start the day as well as a good night’s sleep.  This test is just one tool of identifying your child’s strengths and weaknesses but a very important tool.  Please make all efforts to give your child the best start each day for these tests.

 

CYO GIRLS VOLLEYBALL 3RD-8TH GRADE – The girls in 5th-8th have been assigned to a team and the games will begin next week.  Those in 5th, 7th 8th are required to have a sports physical.  This must be taken care of by Sept. 17th for your daughter to continue playing.  A reminder was sent home with your daughter if this effects you.

 

ISPD MEETING SEPT. 14TH AT 7:00P.M.Come share your time and talents at our next ISPD meeting.  If you have missed a few. That is OK, just come to the next meeting and we will fill you in.  If you have never been a part of this process, now is a great time to start!  These meetings focus on creating a stronger foundation for our students.  Be a part of this process!

BERGNER COMMUNITY DAY – NOVEMBER 13THStart your Christmas shopping at Bergners.  We have the Community day books for only $5.00.  For your $5 you will receive many coupons, one for $10 off any regular or sale price item.  There is an early bird coupon (use by 10a.m.) for 30% off an item as well as a book full of 20% off coupons and more.  The books are being sold through the school office.  If you would like to purchase any just put your money in and envelope marked with your name and Bergner Day and they will be sent home to you.  Ask your friends and family.

 

PRINCE AGRI PRODUCTS JOB FAIR – As many of you have heard or read, Prince Agri Products is undergoing a major hiring initiative in the next few weeks.  We are ready to hire 25-35 new employees to help with the start up of the operation of the 2nd and 3rd production lines at the new plant.  Adecco is managing the hiring and is conducting a Job Fair on September 11th from 9a.m. – 5p.m. at their new location at 1891 Maine.  We are looking for good people, so please forward this information to any family and/or friends that might be interested in working for Prince.
